Desert Glam Dress

The big retail chains are already putting autumn and winter fashion on display, regardless of the burning heat outside. We hardly get a chance to enjoy shopping for summer clothes, and they are already gone away. During the summer I design winter clothes, but the fabric stores still haven't received a large variety of winter fabrics, so manufacturing is delayed. The quick season changes in the fashion world are very hard on me as a designer, and they are irrelevant to both the customer and the weather conditions.

I have decided to release a new summer model, a tailored shirt dress made of cupro viscose in an earthy brown color. Cupro is a delicate fiber, derived from natural cotton seeds. The fabric is specially processed for flexibility and shine. Clothes made of cupro are airy, with silky look and feel and perfect softness.
The dress is sleeveless, knee-length, with an open tailored collar and natural shell buttons down to the waist. The dress is sold with a mustard-colored suede-leather belt with a metal buckle, to be custom-fitted without holes.

Navy Cocktail Dress

When an item I designed is comfortable to wear I know that the most important mission has been completed. A clean-line design, maintaining the accurate distance from the body, and a soft fabric, give me my peace and quiet. I can wear it freely and effortlessly. Personally, I don’t like complicated designs or items too close-fitting. I feel feminine and I’m at ease to do whatever I like; my clothes work for me, and not vice versa.

This is the ‘Navy Cocktail’ dress, made of navy blue crepe de Chin. The dress has a straight shape and is slightly loose-fitting. The front part of the dress has a V shaped cleavage and a cream-toned stripe at the bottom end. Seams run along the front and back of the dress, giving the dress a flattering shape. The dress is fastened by a concealed zipper in the back.

The dress is suitable both for a work day and an evening out. During the day, wear it with comfortable sandals, a large colorful purse and minimalistic jewelry, and at night match it with a clutch purse and a fancier piece of jewelry to get a different look with the same dress.

Cream Graphic Blouse & Steel Fold Skirt

My connection with fashion design only started a couple of years ago. I had worked as a graphic designer and was always busy with aesthetics, art, color and form. My connection with the world of design was therefore natural and intuitive. During the years, I received positive feedback as for my taste in clothes, but it didn’t cross my mind to make the hobby a profession. I never dressed Barbie dolls and couldn’t sew to save my life; I only bought clothes and accessories like any other woman. What started the change was a shoe design course I took just for the fun of it. It was my first peep into the world of fashion from a professional aspect. During the course I met a talented designer and a born aesthetician, Meital Bailey. Our relationship first exposed me to the world of designing clothes.
One day I visited Meital at a designers’ market where she presented her designs. The market was crowded and laden, but that visit eventually changed my life. I left the market knowing this would be my new profession. I enrolled for external studies in Shenkar and started the long and fascinating journey as a clothes designer.
I developed my own agenda for an Israeli meticulous, comfortable, chic look of high-quality. Women should not be afraid to dress well; it always gives you a good, empowering feeling.

This post presents the ‘Fold’ skirt I have already presented in various fabrics, this time in a steel-toned soft liquid silk fabric. The skirt has a flattering shape and is comfortable to wear to work and for an evening out. The cream-colored ‘Graphic’ blouse has graphic elements in smoky shades of camel, green, and avion.

Eyes Blouse & Stone Tulip Skirt

Sure, you can wear tailored clothing and still be chic and comfortable. It’s all about the fabric and the shape. Natural smooth fabrics and a well-built, flattering shape create an effortless tailored, feminine and comfortable look.
The tailored look is fitting for work and can easily be worn throughout the entire day; a minor addition of jewelry, a different purse and a pair of high heel shoes, and you are ready for a night out.

In this post I’m hosting my beloved sister, Daniela Schiller. Daniela is a successful neuroscientist, living in New York. She wears 'Schiller' on the streets of Manhattan too.
Each of us is wearing an ‘Eyes’ chiffon blouse, with a V-shaped collar and a washed chiffon bottom layer, and a stone shaded ‘Tulip’ skirt made of mixed silk, knee-high, with a straight shape, a high waist, clean round lines and a seamless glued hem.

Peacock Chiffon Blouse & Avion Shape Skirt

In our streets
there’s special magic
it only bothers you
if you are alone;
when you are alone
everything seems big
the stars above
don’t want to fall

Normal people
quietly go to sleep
cats moan
and children can’t sleep;
in our streets
everything has emptied
it only bothers you
if you are old

In our streets | Mashina | Lyrics: Yuval Banai

The chiffon blouse 'Peacock' is composed of two layers. The outer layer features various geometric shapes and different shades of blue, yellow, camel and cream. The bottom layer is washed chiffon, for a soft, snug and somewhat opaque blouse. The blouse can be worn over a skirt or tucked-in.

The ‘Avion Shape’ skirt is 100% grey-light blue shaded cotton with a straight shape and a high waistline. Belt loops are placed a little below the waist, and two front pockets with a diagonal opening and a hidden back zipper create a clean look. In the bottom part, on both sides, I added deep slits for a feminine look and a comfortable walk.

Graphic Lines Blouse & Grey Tulip Skirt

The international style, a functional artistic school of architecture and design, influence much of my work as a designer. The style was born in the late 1920s and lasted until the 1970s. At times it is referred to as the “Bauhaus style”. Bauhaus is the name of a school of design and architecture which was active in Germany in the interwar period. In this school famous architects, who developed the international style, were students and later on teachers.
The school valued the dissociation from flamboyant design and emphasized human beings and their elemental needs. The style is clean and simple, and uses many straight lines and other elements that make its products easy and simple to manufacture and use. The Bauhaus is an important milestone in the history of modernity.

I designed a clean, functional and elegant look. The silk blouse has a light cream shade with a dark grey diagonal stripe print. The collar is tailored, and has a V-shape opening and dark grey buttons. The knee-high skirt has a straight shape and a high waist with clean round lines. The wraparound shape closes with a seamless glued hem, customary for elegant dresses. The fabric, mixed silk, is a smokey dark grey. In the back of the skirt, a hidden zipper and a cleft for walking comfortably.
The combination between the blouse and the skirt creates an elegant yet light look, fitting for the workday as well as after hours.

Graphic Blouse & Tulip Skirt

The photos for this post were taken at the “Kikar Levana” (White square) sculpture in 'Volfson' park, a site which brings together many aspects of my work – the world of art and design that is my constant inspiration, and Tel Aviv, where I live, design, create and get my pictures taken. The artist Dani Karavan designed the project, paying homage to the builders of Tel Aviv. An outdoor sculpture made of white concrete, and designed to blend with the park’s flora. The structures include, among others, a pyramid mimicking the tents in which the city’s builders lived, a submerged amphitheater reminiscent of the watering pools for the orchards spread around the city, and a quadric structure communicating with the straight lines of international design style. The whiteness of the structures corresponds to “The White City”.

The choice of fabrics and the tailored, accurate shapes I design, are very typical to my work, and directly correspond to the city of Tel Aviv and the art in its streets.
The blouse ‘Graphic’ is sleeveless and made of 100% cotton fabric. The fabric’s background color is light blue, and graphic elements are printed on the fabric in green, camel, blue and grey. The collar has an open V shape, and the buttons are green. I added a small fabric dart with a decorative button next to the buttoning.
The blouse is also sold in shades of brown.
The skirt ‘Tulip’ is deep blue with a straight shape, and has a high waist; the front of the skirt is designed as a wraparound. The fabric is mixed silk, gentle and suitable for summery weather. The skirt is knee-high and has a hidden zipper in the back and a small cleft.
